Chinchillan erikoishiekka on hienorakenteista sepioliittihiekkaa, joka sisältää savea. 
Erikoishiekassa on kvartsia. Sen vuoksi hiekka on erityisen hyvä poistamaan rasvaa ja muita 
epäpuhtauksia chinchillan turkista. Näin turkki säilyttää luonnollisen kiiltonsa. 

Ei sisällä teräviä reunoja, joten ei katko tai haurasta turkkia.
